Looking at Art:

Is Michelangelo’s sculpture of David pornographic? According to a recent article in the Washington Post, parents of some middle school students must think that it is, because after an art teacher showed images of the sculpture to their students, the school principal was forced to retire. I always knew that nude sculptures in the center of major cities in Europe would not be found on display in the United States, but this new censorship of a great icon of traditional art was a shock to me. Do you find it shocking?

Work in the Studio:

Practicing the art of watercolor has helped me lo learn a great deal about the medium. Although I prefer painting people I  made some sketches of flowers recently and found that designing and coloring them was both fun and challenging. Here are some examples of these small sketches.
